TAZOO 1.2

The TAZOO application is an augmented reality (AR) tool that integrates storytelling, nostalgia, and local community engagement. It aims to reconstruct the historical Tel Aviv Zoo, a cherished institution in the city center that operated from 1938 to 1980, by drawing on oral histories and community contributions.

The re-creation employs location-based AR technology, enabling visitors to visualize the zoo as it once existed through their mobile devices. When in the Gan Ha'ir Garden in Tel Aviv, users can overlay historical images and information onto the current landscape, effectively blending past and present perspectives.

This project exemplifies innovative use of AR to foster historical awareness and community connection, offering an immersive experience that bridges temporal gaps and enhances cultural appreciation.
